It’s not just the audience who’s grown tired of remakes. Sometimes, the actors working on them are tired and frustrated when they don’t see the desired final product. Jason Momoa had this experience while starring in the ‘Conan The Barbarian’ remake. The experience of making the movie was so traumatic that Mamoa straight out called it a “big pile of s***.”
By no means poetic but valid by all accounts, the film underwent several creative visions. The idea was to foster a franchise founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger into a series of successful movies and television series. Luckily for Momoa, ‘Game Of Thrones’ came along. But he can’t wash the ‘Conan’ stench off him.

Jason Momoa Didn’t Have A Pleasant Time Filming ‘Conan The Barbarian’
Even since the release of his ‘Conan The Barbarian’ in 2011, Jason Momoa has blasted the film publically as many times as he can. The ‘Game Of Thrones’ and ‘Aquaman’ star went through a gruesome training program to look the part, but the entire movie fell apart during production.
Jason Momoa told GQ, “I’ve been a part of many things that really sucked, and movies where it’s out of your hands. Conan [the Barbarian’] was one of them. It’s one of the best experiences I had and it [was] taken over and turned into a big pile of s***”

Why Jason Momoa Starrer ‘Conan The Barbarian’ Remake Didn’t Work
‘Conan The Barbarian’ remake was a disaster. The glaring errors in every department of the film were evident in the trailer, but let’s go through them individually. The first misstep is the casting of Jason Momoa. He’s not a bad performer, but it’s hard to imagine anyone but Arnold Schwarzenegger as the hulking and sword-wielding barbarian.
The film’s writing is fruitless, with characters speaking in stilted dialogue that makes the viewers uncomfortable looking. But an even more pressing problem was the special effects. At any point during the movie, it becomes apparent how ill-placed the CGI looks. Jason Momoa does his best, but he and the rest of the cast can’t help but feel out of place.
As expected, Momoa’s ‘Conan The Barbarian’ bombed at the box office. It only grossed $68 million at the worldwide box office on an estimated production budget of $90 million. Despite the film putting a black mark in front of his name, Momoa has found success with other million-dollar film franchises.
