Fashion’s most terrifying editor has returned, and she hasn’t softened with time. ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ has finally released a new trailer, which gives the fans a fashionable glimpse of how Andy Sachs, Emily Charlton, Nigel Kipling, and the unforgettable Miranda Priestly have evolved or stubbornly stayed the same since we last saw them.
The preview is very much nostalgic, though not without an incisive touch. And, we as fans are here for it all.
The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Cast Reflects On Stepping Back Into Iconic Roles

Andy (Anne Hathaway) reunites with Emily (Emily Blunt), who is older, more mature, but still very much herself. In the meantime, Miranda (Meryl Streep) demonstrates that certain habits are hard to break, even forgetting the lives of large parts of her employees. The moment when she casually inquires Nigel (Stanley Tucci) where he was during a defining chapter of his, the moment lands like a perfectly tailored insult.

Before the trailer was released, the main cast of the movie reminisced about going back to the Runway magazine world in an interview with Vogue, and how they react to it shows how personal this sequel is. For Streep, playing Miranda Priestly again was like finding a lost part of herself. She compared it to searching her closet and asking herself whether something old would still fit her.
It was a question that Miranda would probably answer without mercy herself. Blunt, in his turn, referred to her return as a homecoming. She made fun of the fact that she could so easily slip into Emily’s sharp-edged personality. “This character seems to be the glove that fits rather too easily for me. She’s a lunatic. Maybe I should question myself on that: why it seems so easy to step back into her,” Blunt shared.
Some Things Never Change In ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Hathaway had a more emotional experience. She recounted an experience of seeing Streep walk down a hallway in character, which brought her back to her early twenties. “Meryl, as Miranda, had started down the hallway ahead of me, I was maybe 50 feet behind her, and seeing her from the back was practically psychedelic. I just felt so many portals open up at that moment. I was 22 again, but it was still now,” Hathaway shared.

The outcome was disorienting, a reminder of how much time has passed and how deeply these characters are woven into her career. Tucci, who was always the heart of the ensemble, acknowledged that Nigel never abandoned him. Going back to the role was not as much of a resurrection as it was a release.
‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026, and it will be filled with snappy dialogue, high fashion, and the type of character-driven drama that made the original a cultural icon. The devil did not simply come back; she returned impeccably dressed.
