Beyonce Reunites With Her Girl Band Destiny’s Child To Sing Happy Birthday For Kelly Rowland’s Husband

Beyonce has been ruling the music industry, especially in the past few months with her Renaissance tour and the movie that followed. However, the singer is also known for her humility and the way she never forgets her roots.

Before she rose to fame as a solo artist, Beyonce was a part of a girl band that gained prominence in  the late 90s. Formed in 1997, Beyonce’s band was known as Destiny’s Child with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams as her band members. To their fans’ delight, the band came together for a short reunion for a birthday party.

Destiny’s Child fans were treated to an impromptu reunion as Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams came together to sing a special rendition of ‘Happy Birthday‘ for Rowland’s husband Tim Weatherspoon. The group sang him the wishes at a lavish party marking the 50th birthday of Weatherspoon at the Fleur Room in Los Angeles.

The attendees at the party described the song as the “highlight” of the birthday bash as the 42-year-old Knowles, 44-year-old Williams, and 42-year-old Rowland, the part of the iconic girl group since its inception in 1997.

The birthday celebration was organized by Roc Nation’s Lenny Santiago, and Carver Green along with Rowland. The birthday song was an impromptu plan as Destiny’s Child came together. Kelly and Tim’s sons, Titan and Noah had also joined the party.

Some other notable celebrities on the party guest list included The Weeknd, Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, and Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, among others.

Though Beyonce left the trio in 2005, the three have maintained a strong friendship over the years. ‘Destiny’s Child‘ fans have seen glimpses of their friendship, as they often show up to support each other for major life events.

In January 2021, Beyoncé and Michelle Williams were there for Kelly Rowland when she gave birth to her youngest son. The reunion had even sparked a rumor that the group may be coming together.

Michelle Williams had said she was open to the idea, as she also hinted at including original members LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. “[It] could be kind of fly,” Williams mentioned in May 2021, leaving the door open for the potential of a larger ‘Destiny’s Child’ reunion. But it never came to fruition.
