One Direction’s Liam Payne Celebrates 100 Days Of Being Sober With A New Album Announcement

The world shifted a little when the beloved boy band One Direction disbanded. The directions could not believe that the boys parted ways after creating tons of memories with their music, moments, and love. Stephen Hawking consoled the girls by saying that Zayn Malik would still be in One Direction in some other universe. While we still hold out hope that the boys will reunite, the members are releasing new music individually.

In 2022, Harry Styles released ‘Harry’s House,’ which proved to be a commercial banger. The album won the ‘Best Album of the Year’ award at the Grammys in 2023. On the heels of that, Niall Horan announced that he will be releasing a new album titled ‘The Show’ on June 9, 2023. Now, the disgraced ex-member of the band, Liam Payne, has hinted at releasing a new album.

After One Direction disbanded in 2016, Liam Payne released an EP titled ‘First Time’ in 2018. In 2017, he released the first single from the EP titled ‘Strip That Down’ with Quavo, which became an instant hit, charting at the No. 10 position on the Billboard Hot 100. His other hits include ‘Bedroom Floor,’ ‘For You’ with Rita Ora, which was certified silver in the UK, ‘Familiar,’ and ‘Polaroid.’ He last released an album in 2019 titled ‘LP1.’

Now, Liam Payne is all set to release new music after being sober for 100 straight days. During an interview with IFL TV at the Joe Fournier and KSI Fight, Liam said, “Things are really, really good. I’ve been sober for over 100 days. I feel amazing. I feel really, really good, and the support from the fans and everything else has been really, really good. So, I’m super happy.”

He continued, “I’ve been making an album for a change, which is quite fun, and it’s been good, so I’m excited to bring it out, and I definitely want to tour this time. It’s just unusual because I wasn’t sure I was going to tour for a long time.”

During the ‘Diary of a CEO’ podcast in 2021, Liam Payne discussed his substance abuse issues. He told the host, Stephen Bartlett, “I was worried how far my rock bottom was going to be. Where’s rock bottom for me. And you would never have seen it. I’m very good at hiding it. No one would ever have seen it.”

Payne continued, saying that he has “never, never spoken about. It was really, really, really severe. It was a problem.” He said, “And it was only until I saw myself after that I was like, ‘Right, I need to fix myself.’ “ During his drinking phase, he had a “pills-and-booze face. My face was just, like, 10 times more than it is now. I just didn’t like myself very much, and then I made a change.”
