Many cities failed to crack the challenge, but during her Houston concert, a fan became aggressive when a concertgoer screamed during the challenge.

On September 23 and 24, 2023, Beyoncé performed for her hometown, Houston, at the ‘Renaissance’ world tour. The ‘Formation’ singer is in the last leg of the tour, and she gave a mesmerizing performance along with fellow Houston artist, Megan Thee Stallion. The duo performed their Grammy-winning song ‘Savage’. But, like any other venue, the fans were excited to take part in the ‘Mute Challenge.’
The ‘Mute Challenge’ has become a tradition of the ‘Renaissance’ tour. It originated during the Stockholm show when the music stopped after the ‘Look around everybody on mute’ lyric during ‘Energy’. Many venues failed to complete the challenge, and it was Houston’s turn. During the pivotal moment in the concert, when everybody went on mute, a concertgoer screamed “Woo!” which made an aggressive fan punch him, and she asked him to “Shut the f*** up!”

During the ‘Renaissance Tour’, Atlanta emerged as the winner of the ‘Mute Challenge’. However, during the second night of the Houston concert, Queen Bey was surprised to see the whole venue going mute during the song.
