Celebrity feuds and beefing are way more common than you would think. The ‘Drivers License‘ singer Olivia Rodrigo is no stranger to this, especially with the rumors of her and ‘Shake It Off‘ singer Taylor Swift’s tiff.
The pop star recently shut down all the speculations about her supposed feud. It also boils down ultimately to her team-on-team dynamic with the Cruel Summer star, and here’s what we know so far!
Olivia Rodrigo Addresses Taylor Swift Feud Rumors
When asked by The New York Times’ Popcast about the feud, Olivia Rodrigo said, “I don’t really read that far into it.”
She also debunked a whole speculation about her bond with Taylor Swift. This isn’t the first, as the singer has been in the face of controversy surrounding her, including another feud with ‘Espresso‘ singer Sabrina Carpenter.
In this case, however, this had to do with Rodrigo delaying Swift and her producers’ writing credits for the song ‘Deja Vu.’ It was one of the prominent tracks on her album ‘Sour.’

Before that, Swift and Rodrigo maintained an amicable relationship where they praised each other. Swift lent her words of encouragement to Rodrigo, especially for the song ‘Driver’s License.’
Rodrigo, in turn, confessed that she viewed Swift as an inspiration. The controversy resurfaced lately, and Rodrigo did address the feud, but she also shed light on the whole team-on-team dynamic.
A Team-On-Team Dynamic
While Olivia Rodrigo addressed the supposed ‘beef’ in the NY Popcast, she spoke about the controversy years back, too.
The singer spoke to Rolling Stone back in 2023, where she opened up about the entire ordeal. “At the time, it was very confusing, and I was green and bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. It’s not something that I was super involved in… It was more team-on-team. So, I wouldn’t be the best person to ask.”
Rodrigo also told the magazine that she has no beef with anyone. In saying so, she emphasized her family as her top-notch priority.

This isn’t the first time internet users have speculated about her beef with an artist. Even with Sabrina Carpenter, the internet went haywire in trying to put two and two together.
There were rumors and theories that both artists were supposedly writing diss tracks aimed at each other. It was subsequently shut down when Rodrigo praised Carpenter’s work in an interview with British Vogue. Both pop stars were seen embracing each other at the 2025 Grammy Awards, too.
As for Rodrigo and Swift’s dynamic, Rodrigo even claimed that the rumors are nothing but “par for the course.” She did not, however, address the status of her dynamic with Swift or where they stand in terms of friendship.
Aside from that, Taylor Swift has yet to make a statement on the entire controversy. Olivia Rodrigo is currently prepping for ‘The Unraveled Tour,’ which will begin in September 2026.
