From the sun-drenched streets of Miami to the snow-covered fields of Iron Lake and, most recently, the bustling streets of New York City, Dexter Morgan has always been a man of his surroundings.
However, a new production update about ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ indicates that the franchise may be planning to think a lot bigger.
Dexter Morgan’s Next Hunt Could Take Him Further Than Ever Before

Director Marcos Siega recently shared that the crew of ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ has been out in Istanbul to look for locations. The visit apparently failed to yield the results they were looking for. However, it also does open up an intriguing possibility. Dexter’s world might be growing far beyond the borders of the United States.

For a franchise that has been preoccupied with local crime and vendettas for most of its history, the notion of a more international outlook is definitely exciting. Moreover, the one thing that ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ has done that has been appealing to fans is that it’s changed.
In Season 1, Dexter was thrust into a whole new world when he was moved to New York and was surrounded by a web of dangerous killers who were tied to Leon Prater’s secret organization. The prospect of international locations, however, indicates the series could be gearing up to up the ante again.
However, scouting locations does not mean that Dexter will be running around killing people in other cities. There may be several options considered for a production before decisions are made. But the creative team’s choice of a city as unique as Istanbul suggests a future bigger than ever.
Familiar Faces Could Still Shape ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Season 2

As new characters and enemies are being introduced, some fans are still wondering who from Dexter’s past will be returning. New production news has led to speculation that the beloved characters might continue to be a major part of the narrative.

The franchise has a long history of reviving characters through memories, hallucinations, and Dexter’s internal dialogue, even after they die. Several other returning characters will be featured in Season 2 as well, like Harry Morgan, Charley Brown, Detective Claudette Wallace, Harrison Morgan, and fan favorite Detective Angel Bautista.
Regardless of how far Dexter travels the most difficult thing for him has always been the secrets he leaves behind. One thing is certain: Season 2 will either stay in New York or travel to an unexpected location, but Dexter Morgan’s dark journey is far from over.
