Taylor Swift’s New Career Shift Is Not That Big Of A Surprise
As someone who holds the crown for being one of the best songwriters in this generation, many have wondered if Swift will ever get into authoring books. Well, turns out, she’s working on it.
As reported by The U.S. Sun, Swift is planning to write her first book as her team TAS Right Management has trademarked some certain words and phrases. One of which happens to be “A Girl Named Girl”, which is the title of a novel Swift wrote when she was 14.
It’s unclear what content the book holds and if she really is jumping into writing, there are, however instances where she has talked about the book. It is apparently 350-400 pages long and is about a mother who always wanted a son but ended up getting a daughter instead.
After writing the book, Swift then decided not to push herself in this career as she was more passionate about music. Talking about the book she once said, “I’ve discovered music and that’s the form of writing that inspires me the most. It’s not to say that I wouldn’t expand the mediums and the ways that I choose to write.”

What Is The Book About?
As far as what Taylor has revealed in past interviews, she wrote the book while on a typical summer vacation in Stone Harbour, New Jersey, when she was afraid to leave her “den” because a shark had been discovered stranded on the the dock of their waterfront home.
Speaking of how she wrote it she said, “We lived on this basin where all this magical stuff would happen. One time a dolphin swam into our basin. We had this family of otters that would live on our dock at night. We’d turn the light on and you’d see them, you know, hanging out, just being otters. And then one summer, there was a shark that washed up on our dock. I ended up writing a novel that summer because I wouldn’t go in the water.”
“I locked myself in the den and wrote a book. When I was fourteen. Because of a shark!” she added, laughing.
Talking about why she took a different path instead, she said, “But since then, I’ve discovered music and that’s the form of writing that inspires me the most. It’s not to say that I wouldn’t expand the mediums and the ways that I choose to write. What if I end up writing a script or a book, or a book of poetry or something? That would be so amazing. I would love to see that happen.”
It will be interesting to witness the magic she brings to the world of literature. As of now, nothing is confirmed and further details from the singer officially will be awaited.
