Out of rage and dissatisfaction comes their absolvement. Netflix’s latest smash hit ‘Beef’ is a cathartic story of loneliness that seems to gobble up from the inside. By choosing to bury it inside, we only make it more insidious. Ali Wong and Steven Yeun give phenomenal performances of nemesis committed to ruining each other’s life.
‘Beef’ starts with road rage and ends at a hospital. Excuse our French, but a lot of s*** happens in between before rushing to the optimistic ending that may or may not provide all answers but hits just to the heart. Ultimately, nothing matters except the feeling of being enough, never to feel any void again.

‘Beef’ Plot Explained
We’ve all had those days when smiling hurts, and politeness becomes exhausting. It only takes a split-second decision from having a perfectly fine to the worst day in your life. Danny (Steven Yeun), lost in his anger, doesn’t notice that he almost backs into Amy’s (Ali Wong) car. Instead of talking it out like well-mannered humans, they allow this incident to escalate into road rage. But it’s not each other they are angry with.
Danny and Amy misdirect their feelings of shame and anxiety into what they believe can help them regain control of their lives. Amy is an unsatisfied entrepreneur in the middle of selling her business, while Danny is a contractor struggling to make ends meet. Amy feels miles away from his artist husband, George (Joseph Lee), while Danny gets no love or respect from his Crypto trading younger brother Paul (Young Mazino).
Soon, this unresolved trauma, finally coming to the surface due to the road rage, brings out the worst impulses of Amy and Dan. The two loose everything they care about in their ruthless pursuit of revenge. Without any material possessions, they finally see how alike they are. After losing everything, they find something that had eluded them all their life- serenity.

What Happens At The End Of ‘Beef?’
In the final chaotic moments of the show, Amy learns her husband George leaves with their daughter without informing her. Danny is in the middle of escaping the art heist he inadvertently became a part of. Their paths converge (literally) as Amy pursues him, with the chase leading to them driving off a cliff.
Injured and out of options, they reluctantly team up to find their way back. While looking for food, Danny comes across berries that turn out to be poisonous. Under the influence, both begin to open their hearts to each other. They finally find perspective in each other’s loneliness and reconcile. Soon, they are able to find reception for their cell phones and come across the tunnel.
However, as they reach its end, George appears (thanks to the Find Me app on Amy’s phone) and shoots Danny. We learn he’s survived and now resting in a hospital. Amy, who’s been by her side, gets into the bed and hugs him. Through the act of embracing, they are finally able to let go of the barriers between them. After lifetimes of confessions, they can finally rest in peace.
