The highly acclaimed Netflix series ‘Bridgerton‘ is based on Julia Quinn’s book series. It is safe to say that the filmmakers have stuck to the books as much as possible without disrupting the story. ‘Bridgerton‘ has given us some incredible love stories and season 3 is all set to premiere with the newest one soon.
However, season 3 also introduces us to a new character not seen in the books. Enter Lord Debling. Portrayed by Sam Phillips, Debling is quite the eligible bachelor in town. But why did showrunner Jess Brownell decide to add a new character not seen in the books?
“We’ve watched poor Penelope on the sidelines for two seasons, and I’ve always felt like Penelope is eligible if she would only work on her confidence,” said Brownell in conversation with Variety. “It only felt right for her to get some interest from someone, and it’s Debling’s introduction also. It also functions as a ticking clock for Colin.” Brownell also added, “I think Colin has already realized his feelings for Penelope before Debling shows up. But once Debling is interested, Colin has to hurry up and make haste.”

Penelope Featherington Is Ready To Shine In Season 3
The ton this year is all set to see a completely new Penelope Featherington. Her makeover has been one that fans are loving and are highly anticipating. It seems showrunner Jess Brownell is completely teamed with Penelope since he decided to add some more spice to her and Colin Bridgerton’s story with Lord Debling.
