‘Bridgerton’ is a period-romance series based on Julia Quinn’s novels. It is created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shondaland for Netflix. Its season 2 was the most-watched English-language television series on Netflix with 656.16 million hours in its first 28 days of release.
The synopsis reads, “Set against the Regency era, the eight close-knit Bridgerton siblings — Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth – navigate London high society in pursuit of love and happiness, surrounded by friends and competitors alike.”

Simone Ashley From Bridgerton Reveals Her Hope For Next Season
If Simone Ashley has her way with her character, Kate, it’s time to stock up on diapers and bottles! After marrying Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) in season two, the actress has great hopes for their growing family.
“I’m excited to see Kate become Viscountess and head of the household,” Simone told IMDB. “I think she has much to learn from Anthony. They’ll be two little partners. I’d love to see them have a baby, to put it simply. Maybe that will happen, maybe it won’t.” Kate and Anthony ended up with four children in Julia Quinn’s ‘Bridgerton’ books. While the prognosis is encouraging, we’re not counting on it yet since nothing has been confirmed.
Simone revealed her favorite memories from filming the second season. She said, “Johnny would make me laugh all the time.”
While we wait for a Kanthony child, we already know that the third season of the Netflix blockbuster will center on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Not only are we looking forward to their romance blossoming, but it also means Kate and Anthony will have plenty of time to have kids. It’s a win-win situation!
All We Know About ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3
Season three, like seasons one and two, has Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) as the main characters, but this time it’s a different Bridgerton brother in the spotlight: Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), Colin’s longtime friend, will be his season three partner. The upcoming season will pick up where Julia Quinn’s novel, ‘Romancing Mister Bridgerton‘, left off, following Colin as he finally understands Penelope is worth wooing and falling in love with.
On May 15, Nicola confirmed this to the audience during Netflix’s ATAS panel. She said, “Like Lady Whistledown, I have been keeping a secret for quite some time and I can confirm to you all that season three is Colin and Penelope’s love story. I have kept that secret since two weeks into season two. This is the first time I am saying it here.”
Ashley Confirms She Will Reprise Her Role As Kate Bridgerton
Simone Ashley confirmed to E! News that her character Kate Bridgerton will appear in season three, unlike Regé-Jean Page. “Yes, there will be a post-marriage Kanthony story for sure,” she said in March. “And I’m super excited for the world to see Nicola and Luke rock it, but also to just playing with the Anthony and Kate story now that they’re loved up and they’ve kind of sorted themselves out.”
Many people wondered what would happen to Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) after she left Anthony Bridgerton at the altar and gave her sister Kate her blessing to marry the Viscount. So, when E! News approached Charithra for an update on her character, she responded with: “Well, what we always say is the Bridgerton world is ever-expanding. And I think one of the brilliant things about the series is that the focus changes every season. And so you know, Edwina exists in the Bridgerverse, and she’ll always be sort of associated with the Ton but I’m really just excited to see Colin and Penelope’s story.”
Maybe an Edwina spin-off is in the works? Lady Whistledown will have to wait and see. Following the departure of Ruby Stokes, Netflix has recast the role of Francesca Bridgerton. Hannah Dodd will take over for Stokes, who departed the program to feature in Netflix’s new comedy, ‘Lockwood & Co‘.
On May 12, the official ‘Bridgerton’ Twitter account verified the news. The tweet read, “The only thing the Ton loves more than a scandal is a celebration. Do joyously welcome the newest member to the Bridgerton family.” Jonathan Bailey has said that the cast would return in June for shooting.
