Just when fans thought the father-daughter duo of Eleven and Jim Hopper had ridden off into the sunset, Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour are officially reuniting. The Emmy-nominated stars have signed on to lead a new spy drama for Netflix.

The show will be produced by the acclaimed studio A24 and written by ‘Adolescence‘ co-creator Jack Thorne.

Netflix has already given the series a straight-to-order pickup. This time, the stakes are more grounded and maybe even more intense than fighting the Upside Down. Harbour will play Matt Wolfe, a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert who is forced back into the field under terrible circumstances. His estranged daughter, Rebecca, played by Brown, has followed him into the FBI. When she vanishes during a mission, Wolfe has to return to a world that has moved on without him to find her.

The project brings together some familiar faces. Thorne, who co-created ‘Adolescence‘, is set to write and executive produce the thriller. The mini-series became the second most popular English-language TV show in Netflix history with over 142 million views. He also knows Brown’s work well, having written the ‘Enola Holmes‘ films for the streamer.

Hearing about this project confirms what many have guessed, that the alleged feud between Brown and Harbour is firmly behind them. Reports of conflict during the filming of Stranger Things Season 5 have been addressed by the actors themselves.

In a recent interview, Harbour talked about the friction and said their 10-year working relationship was just that, a real relationship. “It’s simple. It was just a simple rupture-and-repair thing… we talked to each other, we’re fine,” he told Variety. He also spoke about their bond, saying, “10 years wasn’t enough. There is a special bond there. I love her. She loves me.”

Brown has said similar things, sharing her gratitude for their history and teasing the project earlier this week. “Father-daughter is where we live, but Netflix will always be our home… The David Harbour project is sooner than expected, and it’s David’s idea, so kudos to him,” Brown said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

Netflix’s Head of Scripted Series, Jinny Howe, talked about the excitement around the announcement. “Jack Thorne’s ability to find the deeply human story inside a thriller is unmatched, and watching Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite—this time as estranged father and daughter on opposite sides of a crisis—is something audiences are going to love.” With this talented group both in front of and behind the camera, the untitled spy thriller is shaping up to be the next big show to watch.
