The poster theory made the headlines after the posters of Season 4 were released. A keen observation was made by a fan when Netflix released 17 character poster. Each poster featured a cast member gazing directly at the camera, except for four beloved characters: Max, Mike Joyce, and Jonathan. Interestingly, a couple of promotional photographs showed multiple characters before the season’s release, and among them was Max, the only one looking directly at the camera.
This curious detail sparked speculation and led a fan Black Girl Nerds to question the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, about its significance. While the Duffer Brothers remained secretive about it, they did hint that Max’s camera awareness might prophesy a challenging journey for her in the upcoming season. And anyone who watched season four of ‘Stranger Things’ knows that this prediction turned out true, with Max facing significant struggles, possibly linked to her nitpicker, Vecna.

Does Season 5 Poster Indicate Trouble For Fan-Favorite Characters?
According to the poster theory, the ‘Stranger Things’ fandom has concluded that Season 5 might explore the supernatural connection Will Byers possesses. This raises speculations that Jonathan, Mike, and Joyce might also be in danger because of their connection to Will. They will most likely be Vecna’s next target. However, season four ended with Will hinting that he can still sense the villain’s presence. And now what more can be more convincing than getting Will’s beloved under Vecna’s spell?
