Henry Cavill on 30 October 2022 confirmed on Instagram that he would no longer star as Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series, ‘The Witcher‘. Netflix made it official with a tweet that the role will be taken over by ‘The Hunger Games’ actor, Liam Hemsworth in season 4 of the series.
‘The Witcher‘ is one of the most-watched series on Netflix and its season 3 will be aired in the summer of 2023. But why is Henry leaving the show?

Henry Cavill Bids Adieu To ‘The Witcher’ Universe
Did Cavill exit the role of Geralt due to the upcoming DCEU project? He certainly had a packed couple of months. He had a cameo scene in Dwyane Johnson’s movie, ‘Black Adam’, and recently in an Instagram reel, he announced that he will be back as Superman. We can expect a lot from Cavill in the coming future.
“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf“, he wrote in his Instagram post.
In his farewell note, he directly addressed Liam. “Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find,” Henry concluded.

Liam Hemsworth’s Take On The White Wolf Role
Liam welcomed the character of Geralt with warm arms. “As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honored that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure,” he wrote in his Instagram post.
He added to the viewers’ curiosity by writing.” I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.“
