Kenya in Africa is home to the Maasai Tribe. They’re an indigenous group of semi-nomadic people settled in Kenya and northern Tanzania. The tribe is inherently backward, patriarchal, and majorly uneducated, even though the government has imposed compulsory primary education of all Maasai children.
Matt Walsh, an American commentator known for his documentary, ‘What is a Woman?‘ has received major backlash for his staunch transphobia and homophobia in the documentary. The documentary aims to term gender ideology as baseless and illogical. It also brings out the Maasai tribe’s view on gender.

The group of men was fascinated to listen to the ideas of transgenderism and heterosexual love. The shocking ‘What?’ by the men is Walsh’s defense offor advocating that the gender ideology is only a ‘Western’ construct. The men can be heard saying, “If you’re a man and want to be a lady, there is something wrong in your family.”
Africa is bigger than USA, China, India, German, Italy, Spain COMBINED and has thousands of cultures. But this one tribesman speaks for all of them. Because they're all the same, right?

It is quite questionable how Matt Walsh wants to use the opinions of a Tribe – which has for generations culturally oppressed its own women – to erase and question the identities of transgender people. The tribe takes pride in its noble and dignified status to maintain its culture against the pressures of the modern world. Amidst all of that, the women of the Maasai Tribe have been eradicated of basic human rights.
