After a long and hectic trial, back-to-back personal attacks, and disclosure of many bitter truths, finally, justice was served in the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation case. Depp won the case and thanked the jury for “giving his life back”, whereas Heard said she was heartbroken. She expressed how her defeat was a setback for all the women out there. Now, Depp is back in form and shared his first TikTok since his big win. But his ex-wife only had criticism for it.
It all started with an op-ed published by Amber Heard in Washington Post in 2018. She claimed to be a victim of domestic violence. While she didn’t mention Johnny Depp’s name, he sued her for defamation, and Heard sued him back for double the amount.
“Women’s Rights Are Moving Backward”: Amber Heard After Johnny Depp’s Tiktok Debut
During the defamation trial, Johnny Depp gained huge love and support from his fans throughout the world. Now, the actor has created his TikTok account and thanked fans. Reportedly, his account reached more than three million followers even when his post section was empty. He later shared a video that showed him waving at his fans who cheered for him and held banners in his support.
“To all of my most treasured, loyal, and unwavering supporters. We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared. And now, we will all move forward together,” he wrote alongside the clip. “You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD.”
Later, a spokesman reacted to the post of Johnny Depp on behalf of Amber Heard. “As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward,’ women’s rights are moving backward,” Heard’s spokesperson told ET in a statement. “The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is…be afraid to stand up and speak out.”
How The Tables Have Turned
After the final verdict, Johnny Depp is on his way to restoring his previous glory. The ‘Charlie and The Chocolate Factory‘ star set the stage on fire during his concerts in the UK. He performed with Jeff Beck and announced an album with him. He also shared his practice video on social media. Following the verdict, a source confirmed that Johnny is “feeling good and positive” and that he “feels like things are on the upswing for him.”
On the other side, Amber Heard is not coping well with the result. The 36-year-old actress is planning to appeal the verdict. A source told that she is “not in a good place” following the trial.
“She feels very alone and like she lost a lot of friends,” the source said, adding “She is sad that people she hoped would support her, didn’t.”
“She is going to try not to do anything publicly for a while,” the source added. “[She is] hopeful that after some time passes, she can slowly build her career back.”
