Anne Heche is no more. The prominent actress of Hollywood lost her battle with life a week after she met with a horrific car crash. On Friday, a spokesperson announced the news that she’s been declared legally dead. Anne was brain dead and had slipped into a coma.
The news is especially difficult for her fans who were constantly praying for her life. The 53-year-old actress came to prominence in the late 1980s with the soap opera Another World. She has also starred in a number of films including ‘Catfight‘, ‘Psycho‘ and ‘Spread’. Her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres received a lot of media attention back in the day.

Anne Heche Dies A Week After Car Crash
Heche has lost the battle of life. The ‘Men in Trees’ actress had been in a coma in hospital with a severe brain injury since the collision on August 5.
She is “legally dead according to California law” after having lost all her brain functions. But her heart is still beating as her family has kept her body on life support while exploring organ donations. This news was let out by the spokeswoman Holly Baird via AFP.
“Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” the family said in a joint statement.
It further said, “Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
Tributes Pour In For Anne
Ever since the news of her death broke out, celebrities have been giving tributes to Anne Heche.
Ellen DeGeneres, who dated Anne in the 1990s, remembered the late actress. She tweeted, “This is a sad day. I’m sending Anne’s children, family and friends all of my love.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas also took to her social media to give a tribute. She wrote: “My heart goes out to Anne Heche’s children, family, friends, and everyone who grieves. It was an honour to have known you and worked by your side. You were a lovely person and an incredible actress. You will always have a special place in my heart.”
On August 5, the actress had rammed her blue Mini Cooper into a woman’s Lo Angeles home, which ignited a massive fire. Her blood reports suggested that Anne was allegedly under the influence of cocaine and probably fentanyl during the accident.
