The world might have entered the 21st century but some old-fashioned ideas are still young, for example, treasure hunting. There are millions of people out there who have a firm belief in buried treasures and they keep exploring for the same. Brad Pitt is no exception.
The Oscar winner recently went down the memory lane and opened up about his treasure hunt experience. He revealed how he became “obsessed” with finding “buried treasure” at his property in Provence, France.

Brad Pitt Went Crazy For ‘Buried Treasure’
In an interview with GQ, Brad Pitt revealed his experience of trying to unearth buried treasure on his thousand-acre estate in Provence, France. Pitt bought the estate with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie in 2008. The actor recalled a man approached him and claimed that the estate had millions of dollars in gold buried under the ground, dating back to the medieval era. “I got obsessed,” Pitt said. “Like for a year, this was all I could think about, just the excitement of it all.”
The ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ star said that he even bought radar equipment and began surveying the property for the treasure. “Maybe it has something to do with where I grew up, because in the Ozark Mountains there were always stories of hidden caches of gold,” he added.
Although, in the end, all of it turned out to be completely false. The man who influenced Pitt for the search was apparently trying to get him to invest in a radar company. Pitt admitted it was “pretty foolish in the end. It was just the hunt that was exciting.”
Pitt And Angelina Jolie’s Legal Battle
It’s been six years since the highly-publicized divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Back in 2008, the then-happy couple bought Chateau Miraval, along with a controlling stake in the vineyard. The estate witnessed many happy holidays for the couple’s family, including their 2014 wedding. Brad called it his “passion”, saying he’d transformed it into a “multimillion-dollar global business and one of the world’s most highly regarded producers of rosé wine”.
But recently, the issues between the two heated up again. Pitt filed papers last week at LA County Superior Court, claiming Angelina has contributed “nothing to Miraval’s success” and has “sought to inflict harm” on him intentionally. Brad’s lawyers claim the philanthropist sold her shares to a “cutthroat” and “dubious” Russian billionaire – “a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions” who is trying to “take control of Miraval”.
