Elon Musk is one of those individuals who remains in the news all the time for one thing or the other. After months of messy legal battle, the Tesla CEO finalized the $44 billion deal to buy the social media giant, Twitter. Since then, he has been planning to make some sweeping changes.
One of them is to charge a monthly fee for verified accounts on the platform. This hasn’t gone well with a lot of people. Recently, Democrat representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Musk out for that. The richest man on earth then put a series of tweets to roast her.

Elon Musk Roasts Democrat Representative AOC
Musk has decided to charge $8 monthly for blue tick verification on Twitter. Most people are not okay with this change, including Democrat representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
AOC took to Twitter to criticize this change. She wrote, “Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that “free speech” is actually a $8/mo subscription plan.”
Musk quickly responded to the 33-year-old politician. “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8“, he wrote. He then went on to share the $88 worth Perwinkle’s apparel with a curious emoji.

When a user told King he could afford the fee, King responded, “It ain’t the money, it’s the principle of the thing.” He enjoys 6.9 million followers on the platform where he is often active.
Musk responded to King. “We need to pay the bills somehow! Twitter cannot entirely rely on advertisers. How about $8?”, he asked. He then added, “I will explain the rationale in longer form before this is implemented. It is the only way to defeat the bots & trolls.”
