In fact, her friend and British singer Adele advised Lawrence not to do the movie, she told in an interview with The New York Times. “She was like, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies,’ ” Lawrence recalled in the interview. “I should have listened to her,” the ‘Silver Lining Playbook’ actress recounted. Some of her other projects, including movies like ‘Mother!’, ‘Red Sparrow’ and ‘Dark Phoenix’, didn’t have great success in the industry.

Jennifer Lawrence Talks About Taking A Break
The ‘Don’t Look Up’ actress felt saturated and out of creativity during the years 2015 to 2018. “I was not pumping out the quality that I should have,” Lawrence said. “I just think everybody had gotten sick of me. I’d gotten sick of me. It had just gotten to a point where I couldn’t do anything right,” the star explained.
“Working made me feel like nobody could be mad at me: ‘Okay, I said yes, we’re doing it. Nobody’s mad.’ And then I felt like I reached a point where people were not pleased just by my existence,” Lawrence added. “So that kind of shook me out of thinking that work or your career can bring any kind of peace to your soul,” the actress said. This is why she took a break from acting for three years.
