Jennifer Lawrence On Hollywood’s Nude Photo Leak Scandal
In 2014, Jennifer Lawrence was the victim of a viral nude photo hack, where her personal and intimate photos were hacked and distributed on the internet. She opened up to The Hollywood Reporter, about the incident in 2017. “When I first found out it was happening, my security reached out to me. It was happening minute-to-minute — it was almost like a ransom situation, where they were releasing new ones every hour or so. I feel like I got gang-banged by the f—ing planet — like, there’s not one person in the world that is not capable of seeing these intimate photos of me. You can just be at a barbecue and somebody can just pull them up on their phone. That was a really impossible thing to process.“, the actress had revealed.
Jennifer had also said that she refused to take legal action as she doesn’t see a point in it and also because she believes that wouldn’t bring peace to her. The star shared later on, how difficult the healing process had been for her. Lawrence was not the only actress who had been trapped this way. Lea Michele, Kate Upton, and Kirsten Dunst were all victims of this 2014 hacking scandal.

The Oscar-winning actress had bought out a stunning performance in her 2018 spy movie, ‘Red Sparrow‘. The movie involved violence, sex, and nudity. Though she was ‘doubtful about stripping off, she admitted she felt ’empowered’ during the process. “I realized that there was a difference between consent and not and I showed up for the first day and I did it and I felt empowered,I feel like something that was taken from me I got back and am using in my art,” she revealed in the news show, ‘60 Minutes‘ with Bill Whitaker.
