With the growing popularity of online streaming services, we all have heard about or watched one or the other series on Hulu and Disney+. Both these streaming platforms have gained quite a bit of popularity now.

Will Hulu and Disney+ Be Merged?
Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger has recently announced that the contents of Hulu and Disney+ will be merged. This is being done to provide users with a ‘one-app experience’. A new bundle plan will be introduced that will allow users to enjoy the three platforms together at a discounted price. And this plan might be available by the end of this year.
Along with Disney+ and Hulu, ESPN+ will also be added. This ensures that users will get a wide range of shows and series to choose from. Iger said that this decision will cause “a logical progression of our DTC [direct-to-consumer] offerings that will provide greater opportunities for advertisers, while giving bundle subscribers access to more robust and streamlined content, resulting in greater audience engagement and ultimately leading to a more unified streaming experience.”

Will Hulu Not Be Available Anymore?
This question has been worrying a lot of viewers. The future of the streaming platform has been in question for a long time now. This is mainly because Hulu has mostly no international presence and around 48 million subscribers in North America only.
It was uncertain whether Iger would have sold the company or not. However, recently Hulu has gained a lot of popularity thanks to shows like ‘Only Murders In The Building‘ and ‘The Dropout.’
So the decision of combining content from both streaming platforms is a better one. Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ will be available as separate platforms as well. But viewers can choose to opt for the bundle package too.
A lot of questions remain unanswered. Viewers are also wondering whether this move means that prices of subscriptions for Disney+ will be increased. Only time can tell whether merging the streaming platforms was a better option.
