Throwback to the time when Elon Musk wished the internet April Fool’s Day in 2018 with the news of ‘Tesla bankwupt’!
Elon Musk’s 2018 tweet made a comeback this year in which the business tycoon collapsed next to a car of his own company with a placard stating ‘bankwupt.’ Twitter users reshared this tweet and relived the meme.
Tesla Tycoon Elon Musk ‘Bankwupt’ In A 2018 Tweet
Elon initiated a series of tweets in 2018 about his company Tesla becoming ‘bankwupt’ and not bankrupt. To make it more realistic, he shared a picture of himself holding the placard of Tesla, and over it, he wrote ‘bankwupt.‘ All of this was done on the occasion of April Fool’s Day four years back.
Twitter users re-circulated and reacted to this tweet by Elon Musk and went viral once again. Many users replied to it humorously and in continuation to the meme they created more jokes. The joke was sarcastic because of two reasons. First, Musk is a billionaire with a net worth of almost $300 billion and he soon can become a trillionaire. The second reason- it was April Fool’s Day.
Twitter Reacts To The Hoax
One user shared the blog post by a media outlet and tweeted, “BREAKING: Tesla files for bankruptcy after disrupting the auto industry, posting record margins & 1,900% stock return past 3 years. As Forbes brilliantly & eloquently stated in 2019: “Musk is living on borrowed time; Tesla’s business model just doesn’t work.” To this musk reacted with two laughing emojis.

In 2018 in a tweet series, Musk stated, “Tesla goes bankrupt. Palo Alto, California, April 1, 2018. Despite intense efforts to raise money, including a last-ditch mass sake of Easter Tesla Silicon Valley Club. There are many chapters of bankruptcy and, as critics so rightly pointed out, Tesla has them *all*, including 14 and a half (the worst one).”
Elon was found passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by “Teslaquilla” bottles, the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks.
This is not a forward-looking statement, because, obviously, what’s the point?
