Hate and criticism have been engulfing Elon Musk from different sources as the new Twitter boss makes drastic changes in the company. The company faced a massive revenue drop later this week as advertisers paused their spending on the platform. Elon Musk Defying Laws As He Shuts Twitter In Ireland
Twitter temporarily closed its offices on Friday after telling employees they will be informed by email later that day whether they are being laid off. The Prime Minister of Ireland, Micheal Martin showed contempt at the way in which Twitter has treated its employees in Ireland. He stated that it was “unacceptable”.
“We are concerned and our concern is for the employees of Twitter. It has changed ownership globally. There seems to be a fairly unprecedented approach adopted here to a global workforce and that is manifesting itself in Ireland,” Martin replied when asked about firing the staff and locking them out of the Dublin office.
The American journalist Kurt Eichenwald also showed his dismay about Musk’s decision to lay off employees. In his tweet, Eichenwald also claimed that Elon Musk has broken the “Unfair Dismissal Acts 1977-2015” by firing the staff. The journalist also warned the Tesla CEO that Ireland is not the United States and that “they don’t slobber all over people for being rich“.

Twitter Lays-Off Employees
By Friday, Musk has sacked about half of his employees. The decision was instantaneous such that the staff lost access to their emails and computers on an immediate basis. “Regarding Twitter’s reduction in force, unfortunately, there is no choice when the company is losing over $4M/day. Everyone exited was offered 3 months of severance, which is 50% more than legally required, “Musk tweeted about the sudden decision. This has caused agitation among people around the world.
Besides firing the employees, Musk also bought changes to the social media platform. He is adamant about his decision. He is going forward with the $8 blue tick fee on verified accounts. The company saw a massive drop in its revenue as the advertisers paused their spending on the platform.
