A former Boeing employee John Barnett who was working for the aircraft manufacturing giant for over 3 decades had previously spoken up about the company’s policies. Furthermore, John was a part of the whistleblowing lawsuit against Boeing revealing the company’s secret. All this only contributed to the news of his death being shocking to people.
Mr. Barnett had been working for the aircraft manufacturing giant for 32 years until he retired in 2017. Furthermore, for 7 years he worked as the quality manager for Boeing. After years of showing concern over the problems he thought were major and being ignored, John spoke out.

John Barnett Found Dead In His Truck Before His Deposition
Barnett, at 62 years old was found dead in his truck. Mr. Barnett, on Saturday, 9th March, was supposed to show up for his deposition related to a legal dispute with Boeing. However, After he did not show up, his lawyer reached out to the hotel John was staying in only to find him dead in his truck. Furthermore, the Charleston police department informed the media that John succumbed to a ‘self-inflicted gunshot wound’.
John had previously spoken against Boeing, “I uncovered serious problems with oxygen systems, which could mean one in four breathing masks would not work in an emergency.” He further added, “In some cases, sub-standard parts had even been removed from scrap bins and fitted to planes that were being built to prevent delays on the production line.” Once you understand what’s happening inside of Boeing, you’ll see why we’re seeing these kinds of issues.”

Barnett‘s Lawyer Describes His Death As ‘Tragic’
Barnett’s lawyer Brian Knowles had also spoken out after discovering his death. He told the Corporate Crime Reporter, “John had been back and forth for quite some time getting prepared.” He further added, “It would have been day three of his deposition here in Charleston on his AIR21 case.” Referring to the whistleblower protection program.
Boeing released a statement to TIME over John’s death. “We are saddened by Mr. Barnett’s passing, and our thoughts are with his family and friends.” All this has led to people being highly suspicious of Boeing. Furthermore, a lot of John’s claims regarding the safety concerns were verified by the authorities.
