What Happened To The Titan Submersible?
OceanGate’s Titan submersible started its journey around 4 a.m. in the morning. We are calling it a submersible and not a submarine because it cannot go up and down the sea independently. It is dependent on the Canadian research ship Polar Prince for its ascent and descent.
However, the submersible lost connection to the Polar Prince just 15 minutes away from reaching the Titanic wreckage. It has not been possible to re-establish contact with them since then.
On board the submersible are five people. It includes British billionaire Hamish Harding, father and son duo- Shahzada and Sulaiman Dawood, French Navy veteran Paul-Henry Nargeolet, and the OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush himself. With limited oxygen supply lasting till Thursday, rescuers are on a time bomb trying to locate the vessel.
