The 81st Golden Globes was a night of glamour, drama, and achievements. A lot happened at the awards night including silent whispers, cast reunions, and the performances swooning the audiences. It also marked the triumph of ‘Succession’ and ‘The Bear’, while ‘Oppenheimer’ beat ‘Barbie’ as the most-awarded film. Unfortunately, comedian Jo Koy’ did not get a night of success as the host.
Koy’s jokes did not reach the target audience. After taking a jab at Taylor Swift, his next target was Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ which he described as a plastic doll with big boobs. Now the director has responded to his remarks.

Greta Gerwig Defends Jo Koy’s Tasteless Remark On ‘Barbie’
The Golden Globes stand-up comedian host Jo Koy was dissed when he compared ‘Barbie’ to ‘Oppenheimer’ saying that Christopher Nolan’s film is based on a “721-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project, and Barbie is on a plastic doll with big boobies.”
Instead of being offended by the comment, Greta Gerwig said, “Well, he’s not wrong. She’s the first doll that was mass-produced with breasts, so he was right on. And you know, I think that so much of the project of the movie was unlikely because it is about a plastic doll… Barbie by her very construction has no character, no story, she’s there to be projected upon.”

Greta Gerwig Is Anxious About Her Upcoming Project
Greta Gerwig had a phenomenal year with the box-office success of ‘Barbie’, taking away the Golden Globe award for Cinematic and Box Achievement. After the night of celebration, Gerwing moved on to the next project. She revealed that she is intimidated by her next project, an adaptation for Netflix based on C.S. Lewis‘ children’s classic ‘The Chronicles Of Narnia’.
Gerwig told BBC Radio 4’s Today program, “I’m slightly in the place of terror because I really do have such reverence for Narnia. I loved Narnia so much as a child. As an adult, C.S. Lewis is a thinker and a writer. I’m intimidated by doing this. It’s something that feels like a worthy thing to be intimidated by.”
