How Did The Jeremy Renner Accident Occur?
Jeremy Renner met with an accident on January 1 in his home near Mt. Rose Highway involving snow plowing. Three days after the incident, the cause of it has been revealed.
According to Variety, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office revealed on Tuesday that the ‘Hawkeye‘ actor was helping a family member whose car was stranded in the snow when the accident occurred.
Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said that Renner’s “personal vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, had become stuck in the snow near his home.” The actor went to get his PistenBully or Sno-Cat, which is a snow removal equipment weighing around 14,330 pounds.
He towed his own vehicle from the spot and got out of the PistenBully to speak to the family member. At that point, the equipment started rolling and Renner is run over by it.

There Was No Foul Play Involved
Sheriff Balaam said that there was no foul play in the accident: “We do not suspect any foul play. We believe this was a tragic accident.”
On Tuesday, the actor posted a bruised selfie on Instagram and thanked his fans. “I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all,” he wrote.
Renner underwent two surgeries after receiving a “blunt chest trauma” and injury to his musculoskeletal system (orthopedic injuries). After the surgery, he remained in the intensive care unit in a “critical but stable condition.”
