From playing a drug addict in a horror series to a businessman in another horror series, and toxic boyfriends in other films, it seems Oliver Jackson Cohen has a knack for some baddie roles.
The actor, however, has now expressed interest in playing maybe a few ethically good men. Cohen opens up in an interview about his new film, his cinematic roles, and a few comparisons between him and Ryan Gosling.

Oliver Jackson Cohen’s Film Roles

The London-born actor opens up on how he thinks about his films, saying, “I have this thing in my head, I don’t know where it comes from, but I’m always convinced that everything I do will be crap. So I’m always pleasantly surprised. That it’s not as dirty as I think.”
Mostly known for his role as Luke Crain in Netflix’s ‘Haunting Of The Hill House’, the actor’s latest film is ‘Jackdaw‘, where he plays a motocross champion who resorts to crime for his family’s safety.
Talking about the type of roles he gets and how they’re always villainous he says, “I’ve played quite a lot of toxic men. But I’ve become fascinated with the question of, ‘how do we humanise these morally corrupt characters?’ There’s a challenge in that, which I think is quite fun. But, like anything, you go through periods where you like to play a certain thing and then it’s time to move on.”

Oliver Shares His View On Comparisons With Ryan Gosling

The interviewer also compared Oliver Cohen’s role in ‘Jackdaw‘ to Ryan Gosling’s role in ‘Drive‘ and ‘The Place Beyond the Pines‘.
Addressing that comparison he said, “Yeah, like a Northern, poor man’s Ryan Gosling. Listen, I’ll happily be a poor man’s Ryan Gosling for the rest of my life.”
Fans on X seemed to notice the resemblance too. While some thought he is a “creepy” version of the ‘Barbie‘ star, others found him quite hot.
Fans are now manifesting a film with both of the actors together, where they play brothers.
Oliver’s Jackdaw opened to mostly mixed reviews.
