Elon Musk made some drastic changes in Twitter after he bought the company for $44 billion last year. The tech mogul laid off nearly half of its employees and introduced several new policies. This includes a model where users could pay a monthly fee to get a blue-mark subscription on the platform.
Recently, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta has introduced a similar feature for users to buy verification badges on Instagram and Facebook. Taking to the micro-blogging site, the South African billionaire called it “inevitable” and also shared a meme to mock Meta for copying him.

Musk Also Shared A Meme To Mock Meta
Meta’s verified paid subscription program begins at a monthly fee of $11.99 if it’s bought through the web browser, Zuckerberg said on Sunday. In Australia and New Zealand, the company will roll out the feature this week.
“This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services,” Mark Zuckerberg said. Musk also shared a meme on the platform from Mr. Bean (Zuckerberg) where he is copying from a man (Twitter) sitting beside him.
Around October, Musk rolled out the subscription plan which quickly backfired. Several users started buying the verification mark and renamed themselves as other celebrities and brands. This led to a chaotic situation and the plan ended abruptly.
