Musk And Other Experts Want A Halt To “Giant AI Experiments”
In March end, Musk, along with several important figures in the AI industry, wrote an open letter warning people of the potential risks of artificial intelligence. The name includes Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and researchers at DeepMind.
“AI systems with human-competitive intelligence can pose profound risks to society and humanity,” the letter reads. It also says that “recent months have seen AI labs locked in an out-of-control race to develop and deploy ever more powerful digital minds that no-one – not even their creators – can understand, predict, or reliably control“.
The experts have urged us to introspect and think about developing something that might “eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete [sic] and replace us.”
