Elon Musk Has Requested Court To Delay Twitter Trial By A Month
The SpaceX founder has been at loggerheads with the social media giant Twitter ever since he called off the $44 billion deal. Twitter then sued Musk for it.
Last week, he asked the court permission to delay the Twitter trial by about a month to November, according to a court filing.
Twitter and Elon have sued each other in Delaware state court and a five-day trial is scheduled to start on October 17.
The micro-blogging site wants Musk to close the deal for $54.20 per share. Elon wants an order saying he can leave without paying a $1 billion breakup fee stating Twitter violated the deal contract. He has asked the judge to let both sides continue briefing their cases through November 10 followed by a trial “subject to the court’s availability”.
