Leïla Slimani is a Franco-Moroccan writer and journalist. She also serves as a diplomat to French president Emmanuel Macron. Soon-to-be HBO limited series is based on Slimani’s novel ‘The Perfect Nanny.’ The book is based on the real-life tragedy of the Krim children’s murder by their nanny.
‘The Perfect Nanny‘ is the story of the au pair Louise, hired by an upper-class Parisian couple. They know little of Louise’s psychological and financial state until she goes too far. It was a well-received novel in France. It has already been adapted into a 2019 film of the same title, with Karim Viard playing the nanny.
