‘Yellowstone‘ is an American drama series on Paramount Network that stars Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, We Bentley, Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham, Kelsey Asbille, Cole Hauser, Denim Richards, and Ian Bohen. The show is based on the Dutton family who owns the ‘Yellowstone‘ ranch, the biggest in Montana, and showcases the events happening in their lives in addition to the drama surrounding their lives.
Recently, rumors about Kevin Costner being the reason behind the delay in the release of ‘Yellowstone‘ season five have spread like wildfire. No release date has been shared yet for season five part two consisting of six more episodes. This in turn has fanned the flames of these rumors. Many publications have reported that the delay is because Kevin Costner wants to wrap up the filming in just a week. His lawyer has now refuted the claims.

Refuting Claims About Kevin Costner
The reports first emerged in early February when it was first suggested that ‘Yellowstone‘ would end with its fifth season. It was believed that the reason behind the premature end of the series is the lead actor Kevin Costner’s reluctance to spare sufficient time in filming the neo-western drama series.
It was also rumored that the showrunner Taylor Sheridan wants to continue the Ranch drama series along with the actor Mathew McConaughey. The report alleged that Costner was only willing to devote a week to the filming of the fifth season which is very less time to shoot an entire season.
Costner’s lawyer Marty Singer quashed all the rumors. He said, “The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season five of ‘Yellowstone’ is an absolute lie.” He further added, “Nevertheless, it’s ridiculous — and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second. As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”
A representative from Paramount also doubled down with a statement that said, “As we previously stated, Kevin has been a key component of the success of our ‘Yellowstone’ series, and we hope that continues from here on out.” A spokesperson also added, “We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of ‘Yellowstone,’ and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come.” So for the time being the rumors have been disproved.

‘Yellowstone’ Show’s Future
Fans of the drama series were also wondering if the fifth season of the show was going to be the final season. The network hasn’t commented on it, so nothing is confirmed yet. The first part of the fifth season aired from November 13, 2022, to January 1, 2023. Part two which earlier was going to get a summer 2023 release has been now pushed to November 2023.
As for the rumors of Mathew McConaughey joining the Yellowstone universe, the network hasn’t denied the possibility. The spokesperson added, “Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner.” This could be possible as Yellowstone is getting a number of spinoffs. These spinoffs are touted to focus on different members of the Dutton family during different time periods.
Some of the spinoffs that have been confirmed are ‘1923′, ‘1883’, ‘6666’, and ‘Bass Reeves’. The spinoff ‘1923‘ will focus on the Dutton family in 1923 during the Great Depression. The season premiered in December 2022 and is scheduled to have two seasons as of yet. The ‘Bass Reeves’ spinoff is based on US Marshal Bass Reeves who was the first black deputy US marshal.
The ‘1883′ spinoff focuses on the Dutton family during 1883. The Duttons leave Tennessee in 1883 and settle in Montana on what would become Yellowstone ranch in the future. The series had one season and it concluded in February 2022. It was the first spinoff to be developed in the Yellowstone Universe. Finally, the ‘6666’ spinoff, also known as the Four Sixes Ranch, is based in Texas. The series will focus on the Four Sixes Ranch.
