Many major motion picture production houses have forayed into creating their Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios and DC Comics with Warner Bros. pioneered the movement. Legendary Entertainment, the production house responsible for creating the Monsterverse is expanding its Kaiju Universe.
In 2014, Legendary brought back Godzilla to the big screen. The film was helmed by Gareth Edwards, and then Jordan Vogt Roberts’ Kong: Skull Island in 2017 established the Monsterverse. After successful ventures like Godzilla Vs. Kong, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Legendary Entertainment will collaborate with Netflix to bring an anime series of the Kong: Skull Island.

Netflix Reveals The First Look Of ‘Kong: Skull Island’ At Geeked Week
The mammoth ape is back with alarming destruction in Skull Island! In 2017 feature film, the scientists and Vietnam soldiers fought for their survival during the study visit to Skull Island. In 2022, Netflix and parent Monsterverse Production Company, Legendary Entertainment are collaborating to bring a spin-off anime series.
During the Geeked Week 2022, Netflix unmasked the first glimpse of Skull Island. They shared a picture with a humongous footprint of a creature in the sand with two people standing in it.

The conjecture around is that Kong: Skull Island will tell the narrative of individuals getting stranded on the Island after the ship wreckage. As per the narrative, they are unaware of the adventures in the abode of prehistoric creatures including the monster ape, King Kong.
For the animation, Netflix has joined hands with Powerhouse Animation Studios. The animation studio is responsible for Netflix’s ‘Masters of the Universe: Revelation’ and ‘Castlevania.’
Brian Duffield will hop on as the writer. Duffield is also associated with Kristen Stewart’s starrer thriller ‘Underwater’ as the screenplay writer. In 2021, he debuted as a writer and director on the quarantine dark humor drama ‘Spontaneous.’
In addition to direction, he will also don the hat of executive producer with Jacob Robinson. Along with the island survival drama, Netflix also announced another anime project by revamping ‘Tomb Raider.’ Legendary Entertainment has kick-started the Apple TV+ series Godzilla with ‘WandaVision’ director Matt Shakman.
