After four months of announcing, Godzilla and the Titans on Apple TV+ finally locked the director for the live-in-action series. Godzilla has been a successful franchise grossing over $ 2 billion at the box office worldwide. Now, it is reported that Wanda Vision’s Matt Shakman will be helming the first two episodes spin-off series project.
Godzilla Series Will Uncover The Hidden Links Of The Monarch Organization And A Family
In January 2022, Apple TV+ officially ordered the spin-off series to be made. As per Apple TV+, the series will cover the aftermath of the 2014 Godzilla. The film pioneered the further successful projects in Legendary Television’s Monsterverse, a franchise centered around monsters including KinKong and Godzilla. The projects included Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King Of Monsters, and Godzilla Vs. Kong.
In the most recent update, Matt Shakman will direct the first two episodes of the series. Previously, Matt Shakman directed and is credited as Executive Producer of the Emmy-nominated WandaVision on Disney+. The filmography of Shakman is rich and diverse as he has helmed projects like Game Of Thrones, The Boys, Fargo, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He will be directing the new “Star Trek” film.
As per the synopsis, “Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.”
Toho Co. Ltd., a Japanese media firm is the owner of the license of the character. The firm has handed the rights of the series to Legendary Television responsible for Momsterverse. The show will be produced by Legendary Television and Chris Black and the Hawkeye writer Matt Fraction will also be the executive producer. Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell and Toho Co. Ltd will also executive produce. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will executive produce for Toho.
