Investigation Discovery’s latest documentary about Chris Brown‘s checkered past is making headlines even before its release. The documentary titled ‘Chris Brown: A History of Violence‘ sheds light on the many physical and sexual assault allegations against the singer.
From his assault case against then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 which made world headlines to every other rape accusation against the R&B star, everything is well-documented in the film. Clips from the film with an investigating official in the frame have revealed some gruesome details about the singer’s abuse.
Chris Brown’s Ruthless Assault Against Rihanna Comes To Light
In a chilling exclusive clip from the documentary ‘Chris Brown: A History of Violence‘, Cheryl Dorsey from the Los Angeles Police Department recounts details from the 2009 incident report. “Rihanna had seen something on his phone that made her think he was dealing with another female,” Dorsey reads in the documentary.
According to the report, when confronted, Brown became violent, opening the door in an attempt to shove her out of the car. Narrator and broadcast journalist Sharon Carpenter, also describes the emergence of Brown’s attack against Rihanna.
“Chris tried to shove her out of the car by opening the door and throwing her out. She had her seatbelt on so that didn’t work. Then he punched her in the eye. He kept punching her and her mouth was filling up with blood,” she says.
“Chris Brown had said to her, ‘I am going to beat the s— out of you,’” Carpenter further read from the report. “She called her assistant — who didn’t pick up — but Rihanna pretended to be on the phone with her. Likely she was hoping this would get Chris to calm down and come to his senses,” she adds.
“He punched her in the eye and her mouth was filling up with blood,” she further recounts. The incredible abandon of it all, as Dorsey says, unfolded in real time as Brown drove while assaulting Rihanna. “He is driving, punching her with his right fist as he drives with his left hand. This goes on for blocks,” she adds.
Chris Brown Plead Guilty For Abusing Rihanna
Chris Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault, serving five years of probation and completing domestic violence counseling. The singer continued on his path over the following years, with accusations of abuse resurfacing once again, most notably from ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran, who filed a restraining order against him in 2017.
More recently, Brown was sued in 2022 by a woman who claimed that he drugged and raped her at a party. Brown has repeatedly denied all of the allegations amid heavy backlash.

Since the incident, Rihanna has often commented about it. “It’s in the past. But it’s not a subject to sweep under the rug,” she said during an interview with Vanity Fair in 2015. “A lot of women, a lot of young girls, are still going through it. A lot of young boys, too. It’s not a subject to sweep under the rug, so I can’t just dismiss it like it wasn’t anything, or I don’t take it seriously.”
“But, for me, and anyone who’s been a victim of domestic abuse, nobody wants to even remember it,” she added.
