Rihanna found out the night before Grammy that Brown was being unfaithful to her with a work friend. Brown, in an interview, admitted that Rihanna after knowing this threw the phone at him and said, “I hate you!” and then started hitting him. They were in a Lamborghini when this issue broke out.

Brown added, “Like I remember she tried to kick me, just like her beating shit, but then I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her, and it busted her lip, and when I saw it I was in shock, I was ‘f**k, why did I hit her like that? So from there she’s…spitting blood in my face, it raised me even more. It’s a real fight in the car, and we driving in the street.”

Brown said that Rihanna then grabbed his c***** because she was trying to get his phone off him. The rapper said that he bit her “because I was trying to drive.” Later, Rihanna got out of the car and started to scream for help by shouting, “Help, he’s trying to kill me!” Brown then asked her to stop screaming or else they were “gonna get in trouble.”

After the assault, Brown was sentenced to five years of probation and one year of domestic violence counseling, and six months of community service. Rihanna explained in an interview that when she was in that abusive relationship, she thought that she could handle him and change him. She told herself that she might be his guardian angel and she must be there when he did not understand the world. She anted to make him think positively.

She said that she was very protective of him. “I felt that people didn’t understand him. Even after … But you know, you realize after a while that in that situation you’re the enemy. You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say I’m willing to put up with something, they think less of you — because they know you don’t deserve what they’re going to give,” she added.

The billionaire singer was aware of the public’s reaction. When she finally understood that if she put up with it then she might be agreeing that she deserved that. That was what made her stop telling herself that she was built for that. She said, “Sometimes you just have to walk away.” Despite all of these complex situations, Rihanna revealed that she does not hate him. She said in an interview with Vanity Fair“I don’t hate him. I will care about him until the day I die. We’re not friends, but it’s not like we’re enemies. We don’t have much of a relationship now.”
