How Did Lil Tay Die?
On Wednesday (Aug. 9), Lil Tay’s Instagram account made the devastating announcement that the teen starlet and her brother had passed away. Although it has not been stated under what conditions the little girl died, people have made suspicions and theories about the rapper’s family.
The Instagram post reads: “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief. During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation.”
When contacted for comment, Lil Tay’s father, Christopher Hope, told Insider that he couldn’t comment on the Instagram announcement. He refused to comment on his daughter’s demise.
Similarly, the star’s former manager, Harry Tsang, told Insider that the matter requires “cautious consideration”. The manager refused to comment on the announcement and its authenticity.
He said, “Given the complexities of the current circumstances, I am at a point where I cannot definitively confirm or dismiss the legitimacy of the statement issued by the family,” Tsang told Insider in an email statement on Wednesday. “This situation calls for cautious consideration and respect for the sensitivities involved. My commitment remains focused on delivering updates that are both reliable and appropriately timed.”
There was no information available from the Los Angeles Police Department or the county medical examiner about an inquiry into her death.
