    “Violence On Rise”: Rappers Who Have Been Shot Or Stabbed In Recent Years

    Music is all about peace, harmony, and integrating different cultures. It travels over the boundaries of language and ethnicity. And rappers and musicians create magical songs and raps that unite people from across the globe. Yet, according to recent reports over 87 rappers have been mysteriously killed in cold blood over the past three decades.

    The shooting of rappers has ignited conversations about rap culture, hate crime, and gun violence. Here’s the list of rappers who met with untimely death in recent years.

    The 36-year-old battle rapper was stabbed to death on September 5, 2022, in Nova Scotia. The cops found the rapper with stab wounds and immediately rushed him to the hospital, where he died due to his injuries.

    Pat became a sensation in the music industry for a short time. Drake also praised one of his songs, The Diss Game. Just a few hours before his death, the father of two posted a picture with his son on Instagram.

    MoneySign Suede

    MoneySign Suede

    The rapper was stabbed to death in the prison shower on 23 April 2023. He was serving his 32-month sentence for gun convictions at the time of his death. Suede was best known for his track Whole Time, Too Late, and Back to the Bag.

    The 22-year-old became a famous rapper and his death was grieved all the entire music industry. Rap journalist Jeff Weiss was among those paying tribute to MoneySign Suede calling him “a young regional hero embodying the hopes & aspirations of the unsung and overlooked”.

    The 32-year-old rapper, Half Ounce was fatally shot on 3 October 2022. He was reported to be on call with his wife when Latauriisha O’Brien was shot to death around 11:30 pm on October 3.

    According to the Los Angeles Police Department, at least a dozen shots were fired during the tragic incident. He was the third rapper who was shot and killed in Los Angeles County in less than a month. He was known for his work Roll Call, Everywhere We Go, and Stand Up.

    Young Dolph was fatally shot to death on 17 November 2021 while buying cookies. Has humanity vanished from the face of Earth? The 32-year-old rapper was at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies in Memphis when someone drove up and shot him.

    Dolph went on to perform several hits including Blue Diamonds and RNB featuring Megan Thee Stallion. His fifth studio album, 2020 Rich Slave rose to No.5 on the Billboard 200 chart. The rapper was initially shot in 2017 and in his 2018 interview Young Dolph, “he wasn’t a person that lives in fear”.

    PnB Rock

    PnB Rock

    PnB Rock’s death shook and stunned the entire hip-hop community. According to Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore, the rapper was shot on September 12, 2022, while eating with his girlfriend at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in what appeared to be a robbery.

    PnB acquired a large following in 2016 with his song Selfish, which peaked at number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100, as well as his feature on the song Cross Me by Ed Sheeran alongside Chance the Rapper.
