Carl Weathers Is Pretty Much Enjoying The ‘Mandalorian’ Challenge
In a recent interview with Empire, actor and director Carl Weathers teased that through his direction, the third season is definitely going to have “a bit more [action].” He also declared that the complexity of this season will reach the next level due to “many, many different stories within the story.”
Comparing his direction for “Chapter 13: The Siege” from Season 2 with the upcoming series, Weathers admitted, “Oh there was a bit more [action] I think, in this one.” He also noted that his Season 3 episode is “a little different [to ‘The Siege’] because a lot of it had a lot more scope. But this one also had many, many different kinds of stories within the story, and that’s really nice.”
From the point of view of Weathers, he thinks it’s really interesting to deal with the complex challenges while keeping in mind the moving scopes and possibilities.
“I love directing. It’s my passion. This show gives you so much opportunity to deal with all these different characters. Even though they’re different episodes, it’s not like typical episodic television – it’s not a whodunnit, it’s not a dark comedy, it’s not a procedural. It’s so many different things, and it’s action-adventure on top of that. As a director, you get a chance to exercise your talent, and also your ability to deliver in those different areas,” Weathers said.
Weathers Also Drops Some Clues About His Character
While the majority of Weather’s words featured some spicy hints regarding the upcoming season of ‘The Mandalorian’, he didn’t forget to hint to fans about his own character as well. He teased that his character, Greef Karga will be sporting an impressive red robe this coming season.
Weathers said, “Amazing, isn’t it? We have such a wonderful wardrobe designer who puts all of that together. The wardrobe is majestic, to say the least. Greef wears it well! It really speaks to how he has matriculated, how he has grown in stature and ambition. And obviously, on-screen it looks fantastic. It adds so much.”
‘Mandalorian’ season 3 is scheduled to hit Disney Plus around February 2023.
