Actor Matthew Modine stated that the “unforgivable crime” of “mental enslavement” is what his character on ‘Stranger Things’ is guilty of. He explained that what he’s done to the children on the program is heinous, but still, Donald Trump is ‘less moral‘ than his character on the show.
Modine, who plays Dr. Martin Brenner on the Netflix hit compared the character to Trump and went on to call the former president of the United States “a psychopathic liar.”

Matthew Modine Calls Donald Trump ‘Less Moral’ Than Dr. Brenner
In the blockbuster television show’s fourth season, the heinous Dr. Brenner finally seems to meet his demise, but not before first pleading with Eleven, portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown, for her forgiveness. He is unable to obtain it though.
During the course of an interview with Vulture, Modine discussed the incident and stated that if he had been pardoned, his character “would spend the remaining days of his life knowing he had been forgiven but having to accept responsibility for what he did.”
After that, he continued his criticism of former president Donald Trump by saying “Do you think Donald Trump is able to sleep at night with a clear conscience? Or does he have to sedate himself and become a psychopathic liar in order to justify the behavior and the things that he’s done?”
“Well, maybe he is. That’s a bad example. I think Dr. Brenner is a more moral person than that, and he’d have to spend his final days acknowledging and accepting responsibility for the pain he caused,” he added. “That’s the real nightmare — not being able to escape your thoughts and the things you’ve seen or done.”
‘Stranger Things’ Star Attacks Trump For Workplace Sexism
Many women have already accused Donald Trump of engaging in sexist conduct. Now, Matthew Modine has claimed that Trump would sexually disparage his staff while they were working in his own office.
Since the footage of Trump bragging about groping women was recorded and made public, Trump has been the target of criticism. Since then, more women have come forward and accused him of sexual assault.
Speaking on Trump’s vulgar statements made on the bus, Modine stated, “It’s embarrassing to call it locker room talk, because anyone who was ever an athlete and spent time in a locker room, I spent a lot of time in locker rooms, and I’ve never heard anybody talk about women the way that he’s spoken about women.”
