MCU is vast with its expansive range of stories and heroes in its timeline. It is, however, riddled with errors, and that’s somethingThe Marvels star Iman Vellani pointed out as well.

The actress recently addressed this ongoing issue in her latest interview. She spoke about her role, working with her co-stars, and most specifically, the continuity lapse, and here’s everything we know so far!

Recently, the ‘Ms. Marvel‘ star Iman Vellani appeared on the ‘Revenge of Podcast.’ She was asked by the host about drafts that did not sit well with her.

The actress eventually spilled the beans about the timeline errors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Problem is a strong word, but at Marvel, like, I was calling out continuity errors while we were filming certain scenes, and I was like, I know the Reddit nerds are going to call it out. I’m calling it out now. You have the opportunity to fix it now. But you know these things have to get like approved by 40 different producers and all that.

The producers also did so because Vellani pointed to the Redditors’ backlash. We know how the entirety of the discussions begin and end, and it makes sense as well.

“I got so lucky that I was given so much space to express myself at Marvel. All the producers that I was working with on both the show and the film really respected my opinion.

There have been endless lapses that, time and time again, have been pointed out by several fans. It is an ever-present problem, even in The Marvels, that was brought up recently by several netizens.

Understandably, Marvel as a universe is huge, and “colossal” might be a good way to put it. This also calls for a wide range of inconsistencies and errors, and The Marvels is no exception.

Be it the wardrobe or the power swapping, there are several instances in the series where it comes off as a mismatch. This is also true for the ‘Blip’ scene in the series where Carole and Maria are conversing with each other.

The latter tells Captain Marvel that she is waiting for Monica, but in reality, the character is trapped in a parallel universe.

What’s so interesting about this very scene is that the term “blip” came much later. It was in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home‘ that the students referred to the disappearances of people as a blip. The movie was set in 2024, while the scene in The Marvels was a flashback from 2021.

The writers, in a way, broke their own rules of the set framework of the timeline in writing this scene. It is understandable considering how vast the entire MCU really is. This scene is one of the many moments where Marvel’s timeline dents were underlined really well.

On the whole, it is refreshing to witness Marvel’s producers and executives addressing this timeline issue effectively! This is also after the studio suffered incessant backlash and criticism regarding the narrative inconsistencies.
