‘Black Panther‘ is an excellent piece of filmmaking, with several layered characters that add to the beauty of its story. One such character is Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, portraying the younger sister of Chadwick Boseman’s lead character in the film.
After Chadwick Boseman died of cancer, his character was also killed off in the Marvel Universe. But Wright has now ignited hopes of her character’s return as she revealed that she wants to bring her character Shuri back, sparking hopes of a Shuri film from the ‘Black Panther’ franchise. “I Would Like To Continue With Shuri”: Letitia Wright On Playing Shuri Again
Letitia Wright has portrayed Shuri in the ‘Black Panther’ franchise appearing in the 2018 epic ‘Black Panther’ and its 2022 sequel, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘. Though he character has been highly acclaimed, Chadwick Boseman’s unfortunate death has left feeble hopes of her revival.
However, during a recent episode of The View, the actress clarified that she wants to play her dearest role again. During the show, host Sunny Hostin teased the possibility, saying, “There are some new Avenger movies on the horizon, and everyone wants to know if Shuri will be making another appearance in the Marvel universe. We need it.”
Wright, who was on the show to promote her new movie, ‘Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot‘, gave a very careful response. “If it’s, uh, let’s just say, let’s just say…,” she said, trailing off as she carefully chose her words. “I would like to continue with Shuri. She’s one of my favorite characters, such a blessing, honestly, I kid you not. I’m so grateful for her.”
When Hostin prompted that Marvel fans are excited about the prospect of ‘Black Panther 3’, Wright replied, “There a lot is coming up”.

Letitia Wright Previously Said ‘Black Panther 3’ Was In Works
In January 2023, while talking with Variety, Letitia Wright talked about a third ‘Black Panther’ movie, though there has not been any formal announcements from Marvel yet. After Chadwick Boseman passed away from cancer in 2020, his character also died in ‘Wakanda Forever‘, making the franchise’s fate hang in uncertainty.
The actor is loved and remembered by his co-actors even today, as his death came as huge shock for both his near and dear people as well as his fans worldwide. His fellow actor Lupita Nyong’o recently remembered Chadwick on his third death anniversary in 2023, by sharing an Instagram photo of the dead actor.
Besides, many fans are divided over the prospect of continuing the Black Panther story without Chadwick Boseman, claiming that it is incomplete without the actor. With the speculation about a third ‘Black Panther’ film rife, fans are hoping that it does justice to Boseman’s rich and loved legacy.
