‘Mission: Impossible’ is one such franchise of films that has broken the boundaries in terms of action and technology. But the characters have become equally famous. Although Tom Cruise is known for his performance as Ethan Hunt, Simon Pegg is similarly known for playing Benji Dunn.
Cruise and Pegg have developed a close friendship over the years after they worked together in the franchise. This means that they speak to each other but Pegg prefers not to speak on Scientology with Cruise.
Why Simon Pegg Does Not Talk To Tom Cruise On Scientology?
Simon Pegg appeared on the BBC radio show, ‘Desert Island Discs’, on May 15, 2023. He stated at the time that he never discusses anything about his personal beliefs with Tom Cruise because he would abuse the privileged access that he gets to Cruise.
Pegg said that they speak about Cruise’s success and that while they were filming in South America, Cruise wanted to swim with sharks and he even did the same. Pegg also spoke on his relationship with Cruise, describing it as “simple and amiable.”
Simon Pegg added: “It’s always been a very easy relationship. I think you realize, when you meet the person rather than the thicket of mythology that’s built up around them, it’s a different experience. I mean, he loves [the fame] and he really relishes it, it’s all he knows. It energizes him and spurs him on.”

Simon Pegg Will Reprise His Role In The Upcoming ‘Mission: Impossible’ Films
Simon Pegg will be returning as Benji Dunn in ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.’ Pegg has played the role since ‘Mission: Impossible III’, which was released in 2007.
‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ is scheduled to release on July 12, 2023. It will be followed by a sequel on June 28, 2024, and it is titled ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.’ Both films are directed by Christopher McQuarrie.
