The board game fans had gone wild after five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen, 31, quit the $500,000 Sinquefield Cup after losing to Hans Niemann, 19. Carlsen lost to Niemann on September 4, 2022. The 19-year-old chess player was awarded the Grandmaster title by FIDE and now has become the source of one of the biggest scandals in chess since 2006.
There was a train of theories that went on to suppose how the chess master would have cheated in the game with Carlsen. The one that caught much attention was the one that accused Niemann of using vibrating anal beads. Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk agreed with this theory. How Did Elon Musk React To This Controversy?
The theory of using anal beads surfaced after a YouTube content creator shared his views on the game. He concluded that the anal beads were used to vibrate Hans Niemann to the right moves.“Currently obsessed with the notion that Hans Niemann has been cheating at the Sinquefield Cup chess tournament using wireless anal beads that vibrate him the correct moves,” a Twitter user tweeted along with the video. The post had gone viral as the theory started to spread.
Musk’s response came with the re-sharing of the viral post. “Talent hits a target no one else can hit, genius hits a target no one can see (cause it’s in ur butt),” Twitter CEO, Elon Musk tweeted an adapted version of a quote from German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer. This was his reaction supporting the conspiracy theory that Hans Niemann had used vibrating anal beads to cheat in the Chess Championship.

What Did Hans Niemann Have To Say?
The cheating theories started with a cryptic video clip tweeted by Magnus Carlsen, of the football manager José Mourinho saying “If I speak I am in big trouble,” during a press conference about referees. The tweet shook the chess world as fans suspected cheating. Hans Niemann did come up with a response to all the theories that were flying around.
He commented that he hadn’t done anything wrong in the chess tournament. Niemann also admitted that he had only cheated while playing online chess when he was a kid. In an interview, Hans had said that he could play naked to prove himself innocent.
“If they want me to strip fully naked, I will do it. I don’t care. Because I know I am clean. You want me to play in a closed box with zero electronic transmission, I don’t care,” The Guardian had quoted the 19-year-old player.
