Arnold Schwarzenegger Had A Hilarious Reaction To His Son’s ‘The Boys’ Spin-Off
Patrick Schwarzenegger told Variety about his dad’s reaction to his show. “He looked at me and he was like, ‘What the f*** are you filming?’ I was like, ‘It’s this show called ‘The Boys’… You have to watch an episode to understand it, or else I can’t articulate what happens in it.'”
A few spin-offs of Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Boys’ have already been announced after its third season. In addition to the cartoon offshoot ‘Diabolical’, a live-action spinoff called ‘The Boys Presents: Varsity’ starring Patrick Schwarzenegger as a character dubbed Golden Boy is currently in development.
The spin-off is characterized as “an irreverent, R-rated series that chronicles the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they push their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test.” The story follows young supes who are put to the test in Hunger Games-style tasks at a Supes college.
Patrick Schwarzenegger To Play Golden Boy In ‘The Boys Presents: Varsity’
Variety claims that Patrick Schwarzenegger is portraying a character called Golden Boy, although the actor has neither confirmed nor denied it. The actor had previously auditioned for the character of Homelander in the first series, but the job went to Anthony Starr.
The actor said that filming is now taking place in Canada and added, “This is a great show with a lot of loosey-goosey humor. ‘Euphoria’ meets superheroes if you will.”
For his next role, Schwarzenegger will join Chris Pratt in ‘The Terminal List’, premiering on Prime Video in July and in the HBO Max crime thriller ‘The Staircase‘, which also stars Colin Firth and Toni Collette.
