Why Did A Senator Slam Elon Musk’s Tesla?

Elon Musk has been in the news for his business deals and legal troubles over the past couple of months. Media reports have stated that two senators called out Tesla regarding its customer’s privacy. This comes just weeks after the news of Tesla investors being miffed by the Twitter takeover and selling of shares came out. So let’s find out what is going on with Musk’s company.

Ed Markey and Richard Blumenthal, two Democrat Senators, have called out Elon Musk‘s Tesla for the privacy violation for users. It happened after its employees shared video footage captured by Tesla customers.

The video shows car crashes, road rage moments, and other kinds of footage related to Tesla cars. Both Markey and Blumenthal slammed the company for showing “willful disregard” for its customers’ privacy.

Earlier, a Reuters report raised “serious questions about Tesla`s management practices.” The senators stated that “although vehicle cameras have the potential to improve safety, these features do not need to come at the expense of consumer privacy.

Last year, Musk haphazardly bought a lot of Tesla shares so that he could buy Twitter. After that, he ended up spending more time at Twitter headquarters. Both these moves did not sit well with Tesla investors.

Musk has been struggling to run Twitter which was already struggling financially. He had to fire nearly half of the company’s workforce to cut costs. Musk then went on to stop paying company vendors and office rent.

Last year, he introduced Twitter Blue, a paid subscription plan to buy and retain the blue check verification mark. This move has not been received well as several celebrities have stopped using the micro-blogging site.
