One may expect Elizabeth Olsen to be an adrenaline junkie after starring in a Marvel movie. But while filming the gruesome axe murder scene in the HBO series ‘Love & Death,’ the ‘WandaVision’ actress had to tap out. The intensity of the moment proved to be too much for her.
Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Candy Montgomery in ‘Love & Death,’ had difficulty filming the confrontation scene between her and Lily Rabe’s character. Ultimately, she couldn’t go through with the scene, asking the crew to shoot it with her stunt double.

Elizabeth Olsen Opens Up About Her Struggle While Filming Horrible ‘Love & Death’ Axe Scene
Despite playing a deranged murderer on the HBO series ‘Love & Death,’ Elizabeth Olsen doesn’t have the stomach for violence in real life. While filming the pivotal axe murder scene with co-star Lily Rabe, she struggled with the combat aspect of it. She was unable to deal with the strain of it, asking to be replaced in the scene by her stunt double.
Elizabeth Olsen told The Hollywood Reporter, “My experience with more fight sequences isn’t hand-to-hand fighting. And so it felt kind of scary at times. And then there were moments where Lily asked me to, with the rubber ax, make contact with her body. And I tapped out and was like, ‘You’re going to have to do this with my stunt double.'”

Elizabeth Olsen’s Position On Actors Performing Their Own Stunts
Despite doing most of her stunts as the Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff, she finds the entire idea “ridiculous.” The MCU alum didn’t hold back her honest opinion during her appearance on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,’ saying stunt people should solely be entrusted rather than actors.
Elizabeth Olsen told the host about her filming experience during the ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness,’ “They wanted to drop me pretty quickly so that it looked like it had an impact, but I kept landing like Peter Pan, kind of like fencing,” she said. “I was like, ‘Just use the double. This is so ridiculous. There is a double for a reason. Like, face replace.’ They do it all the time.”
