Panel Subpoenas Donald Trump For Capitol Attack
The attacks on the Capitol building that took place on January 6, 2021, put the country to shame. People, mostly white supremacists, in Viking costumes and whatnot charged inside the building.
On Thursday, the House Jan. 6 committee voted unanimously to subpoena Trump, demanding his personal testimony. It unveiled a new video from his close aides about his plan to overturn his 2020 election defeat.
Liz Cheney, the Republican rep of Wyoming said: “We must seek the testimony under oath of January 6’s central player”. Trump declined to testify and chances are that he will fight the subpoena.
The panel also summed up Trump’s “staggering betrayal” of his oath of office. They also pointed out Trump’s unprecedented attempt to stop Congress from certifying Democrat Joe Biden’s victory.

Trump Didn’t Accept His Defeat
New details and footage have emerged that mention Trump’s Cabinet secretaries and U.S. Secret Service telling him repeatedly that he had lost the election. Yet, he still tried to stop Biden from taking office.
A lot of his former aides testified that Trump had privately told them that he knew he had lost to Biden. One previously unseen footage shows the congressional leaders calling officials for help during the Capitol siege.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer can be seen talking to governors. “They’re breaking the law in many different ways — quite frankly at the instigation of the president of the United States,” Pelosi said. “Do you believe this?”
Right after the election results were announced, Trump called for them to be overturned and urged his supporters to “take back our country” by marching to the Capitol to “show strength” and “fight like hell“.
